About the album Life On Other Planets
In 2002, Supergrass took the energy of David Bowie, the glam of T-Rex, and the audacity of the Kinks, put them in a blender, and created 40 minutes of pure musical adrenaline. This was Life On Other Planets, the fourth studio album by the English alternative rock band.
The album as a whole is characterized by a playful mood, "noisy" guitars, and psychedelic touches. From the explosive start with Za to the dreamy close with Run, the album sounds like a band genuinely having fun in the studio, free from the pressure of "maturity." The single Grace immediately became a radio hit, reaching No.13, while Seen The Light followed at No.22. For the first time, Rob is recognized as the official fourth member, and his keyboards give the album a psychedelic, "spacey" air that perfectly justifies its title. The album was produced by Tony Hoffer.
The album made a dynamic entry and climbed to No.9 on the UK chart, while it remained in the charts for 9 weeks, a steady trajectory for the time.
