All Killer No Filler by Sum 41
About the album All Killer No Filler
The Canadian band Sum 41 released their debut titled All Killer No Filler in 2001. Although it did not manage to win over music critics, it succeeded in impressing 1,000,000 American lovers of the punk-rock scene and another 300,000 compatriots, who rushed to buy the album.
The criticism they faced was for the similarity of their sound to Green Day. The singer and frontman of Sum 41, Deryck Whibley, has not hidden his admiration for this band, as he has stated that he listened to Green Day's Basket Case at the age of 14 and nothing seemed like that album to him.
From the album emerged the singles Fat Lip, In Too Deep, and Motivation. Among the other songs on the album, Pain For Pleasure stands out, which was written by Stephen Jocz, the band's drummer, within 10 minutes while in the bathroom and is a song dedicated to the sound of Iron Maiden (!)
