The 54,296 copies that Silence Is Easy, Starsailor's second album, sold in its first week of release in the United Kingdom, sent it to No. 2 on the charts.

Starsailor continue to offer their audience the quality they offered with their first album about two years ago. In Silence Is Easy, they adopt a baroque pop tone in their compositions. The title track Silence Is Easy was released as a single a few days before the official album release and reached No. 9 on the UK singles chart, becoming Starsailor's highest-charting single in their homeland. The track's production was handled by Phil Spector and is likely one of the last songs he produced before his imprisonment in 2009.

The album went gold in the United Kingdom, selling over 100,000 copies, something that confirmed that Starsailor could lead the British post-britpop music scene.
