About the album Love Is Here

Love Is Here from 2001 was the debut album of the British band Starsailor, who became one of the first representatives of the post-britpop era in their homeland. If brit-pop was inspired by the 1960s and was expressed during the 1990s, Starsailor seem to incorporate their influences from the pop & rock scene of the 1970s in Love Is Here, taking into account what they listened to as teenagers and young people during the previous ten years.

Characteristically, James Walsh, composer, guitarist, and singer of Starsailor, has stated that the group's intention with Love Is Here was to sound somewhere between Neil Young's Harvest and Jeff Buckley's Grace. They probably... achieved it. The producer Steve Osborne's contribution was significant in helping them achieve the vision they had for the sound they were striving for.

Starsailor with Love Is Here were among those bands that emerged in the very early 21st century, signaling something new in the British pop & rock scene. The album reached No. 2 in Great Britain and sold 300,000 copies. In contrast, in the United States, the highest position Love Is Here reached on the Billboard was No. 129.
