About the album Strong Arm Of The Law
The Saxon entered Ramport Studios in London in May 1980, and by August of the same year, they had created their third album, which is considered one of the best records of their career. This album is none other than the legendary heavy metal record Strong Arm Of The Law.
Here, the band offers their music fans an album that ranks among those that defined and determined the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal. On the other hand, one cannot ignore that there are scattered elements of speed metal in the album. The title and theme of the song and eponymous album Strong Arm Of The Law arose from an incident experienced by the band members when they were stopped by police authorities while traveling in a van to play at one of their concerts. Strong Arm Of The Law also features another classic Saxon song, Dallas 1 PM, a song referring to the assassination of John F. Kennedy, President of the United States in 1963.
The album achieved the No. 11 spot in Great Britain, where it sold 100,000 copies.
