About the album Destiny

Destiny is the ninth album by British band Saxon and was released in March 1988. The British Saxon adopt a sound on this album that bears no resemblance to the sound with which they established themselves in the first half of the 1980s as one of the most representative bands of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal. In Destiny, it's as if they want to fully integrate into the glam metal that prevailed in the United States of America in the late 1980s, but they failed to enter even the Top-200 of the Billboard.

And here's the paradox (!) They choose to cover and promote Christopher Cross's Ride Like The Wind, and they make it sound better than the original. The album's producer was Stephan Galfas, with whom they had not collaborated before.

Another thing that characterized this particular album was the changes in the band's members. Some recorded the album, and others toured to promote it. Destiny reached No49 in the United Kingdom.
