About the album Crusader
In 1984, Saxon found the inspiration to write a song titled Crusader, which would also give its name to the band's sixth studio album. This was sparked by the fact that the newspaper "Daily Mirror" at that time had a crusader as a symbol on its cover, and also by the fact that Ford had just launched in Great Britain its model named Cortina Crusader.
The producer of Crusader was Kevin Beamish. Sailing to America and Do It All For You were the two singles from the album, which did not achieve much. All the compositions belong to all the members of the band except for Set Me Free, which was a cover of a song by Sweet from 1974.
The Crusader reached No18 in the United Kingdom, achieved success in countries of Central Europe, but in the U.S. it simply reached No174 on the Billboard.
