About the album Automatic For The People
The start of the successful course of R.E.M.'s eighth studio album began without the success of Out Of Time having faded, to the point where the listener might wonder where the song Drive is on Out Of Time, as the success of the new single Drive coexisted with the successes of Losing My Religion still being heard everywhere.
The album released six singles, among them Man On The Moon and Everybody Hurts, which were accompanied by very distinctive video clips, which MTV "loved excessively." The production - of course - features producer Scott Litt, who brings out Mike Stipe's voice better than ever before.
Automatic For The People went on to sell around 18,000,000 copies worldwide.
