Made In Heaven by Queen
About the album Made In Heaven
The Queen had been in Montreux, Switzerland in 1991 to record Innuendo. Freddie Mercury knew and understood that the end was very near. His desire and command to the other three members of the band was clear: I record as many songs as I can and you process, orchestrate, and release them after my death. This is Made In Heaven, the last studio album of Queen, released in 1995.
A photo of the back of Freddie Mercury's statue, which was erected in Montreux, Switzerland a few meters from the shores of Lake Geneva, became the cover of the fifteenth and final album of Queen. The photo was taken at the moment the sun was setting. And here comes the tragic irony or the greatness of the man. The only Queen albums where only Freddie Mercury is depicted are their first and last.
The album, which was released about four years after Mercury's death, was destined to be the most commercial studio album Queen had ever presented. The official sales of Made In Heaven are estimated at 20,000,000 copies.
