Innuendo by Queen
About the album Innuendo
The 1990s begin for Queen with Innuendo, released in 1991 and becoming the fourteenth studio album of their career. Innuendo was a sweeping success for Queen, from which five successful singles emerged. Unfortunately, it was the last complete album that Freddie Mercury participated in as shortly afterward, the disease of AIDS made its appearance in the most revealing way. One only needs to watch the video clip of These Are The Days Of Our Lives.
In retrospect, Innuendo is Freddie Mercury's big goodbye to the entire world that adored him for two decades. Things become even more dramatic when one considers that The Show Must Go On was chosen as the last song on the album, which received immense radio and television exposure with its video clip following the death of its performer as it was chosen to be released as a single on October 14, 1991, with Mercury eventually dying on November 24 (!) at the age of 45. The video clip that accompanied the single was the best tribute that could exist to this immense performer and composer.
The shock for the three remaining members was immense. Very soon, they would have to make serious and radical decisions about what they would do after the tragic loss of their frontman.
