About the album Don't Believe The Truth
Don't Believe The Truth was released on May 30, 2005, and is considered by many critics and fans as the big "comeback" of Oasis to quality releases after the '90s. It was the band's sixth studio album. The album has a more direct and clean rock 'n' roll sound, with influences from the '60s and '70s. It is the first album where the songwriting was shared among all members, giving a more diverse feel compared to the past. The cover depicts the band members in a black-and-white shot with an intense '60s aesthetic.
The recording process of the album was extended and began in 2004. They initially collaborated with Death in Vegas, but the result did not satisfy the band, and the recordings were rejected. It was eventually recorded in various studios, such as Olympic, Metropolis, and Strangeways in London, as well as at Capitol Studios in Los Angeles. The main producer was Dave Sardy, while Noel Gallagher produced specific tracks, such as Mucky Fingers and Lyla. It was the first album with Zak Starkey (son of Ringo Starr) on drums. On the track Mucky Fingers, Terry Kirkbride played drums, while Martin Duffy of Primal Scream played piano on Love Like A Bomb.
Don't Believe The Truth reached the 1st position in the United Kingdom and the 12th position on the American Billboard 200. It became triple platinum in Britain and has sold approximately 7,000,000 copies worldwide.
