Nocturama by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
About the album Nocturama
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds needed only one week to record what would become the band's twelfth studio album. Nocturama was recorded in March 2002 while the band was touring in Australia. Nocturama was the last album to feature Blixa Bargeld, who was one of the founding members of the band.
The sound of Nocturama wrestles between rock and art rock. The first single from the album was Bring It On. It was followed by He Wants You / Babe, I'm On Fire, and the third and final single was Rock Of Gibraltar. All the songs are exclusively composed by Nick Cave. In the production of the album, the band meets a very old familiar face from the Birthday Party era. That is Nick Launay, with whom Nick Cave's band inaugurates with this album a series of collaborations in record productions that would last for about the next thirteen years.
The album sold quite well in Europe, where its total sales have exceeded 200,000. Generally, however, as an album, it received mixed reviews.
