Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
About the album Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!
Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! from 2008 comes four years after the double album from 2004, Abattoir Blues / The Lyre of Orpheus, and is the fourteenth album of the band Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. The album would become the last album in which Mick Harvey, one of the founding members of the group, participated.
The eleven compositions of the album mainly belong to Nick Cave, but Warren Ellis has also significantly contributed to a large extent. Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! represents a shift in the musical style of the band, as if it went back approximately 15 years. It seems to have returned to gothic-rock and primarily garage rock paths. Nick Launay is in charge of producing Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! along with the band members.
The album reached No. 4 in the UK, where it sold over 100,000 copies. It also held high positions on the charts of many other countries. Indicatively: in Australia and Norway, it reached No. 2, while in Austria and Sweden, it went to No. 3. Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! is an album that rightfully stands among the finest albums of the band from Australia.
