About the album Black Holes And Revelations

The fourth studio effort of the British band Muse, titled Black Holes And Revelations, was released in the summer of 2006 and won over both the public and critics. As with Muse's previous works, their songs deal with dystopian and heavy themes that address the political state of their times. Their purpose is to offer reflection to their listeners.

The musical style of Black Holes And Revelations changes compared to the more rock sound of their previous works, introducing elements of electronic music, and at some points, space rock elements. The distinctive cover photo was taken at a location in the Bardenas Reales area in Spain.

The album is Muse's most commercially successful, with sales approaching 3,500,000, and it is certainly the album that established them as one of the most important and noteworthy bands of their generation. Reaching No. 1 in their homeland was inevitable, while it entered the Top-10 of many European countries. Reaching No. 9 on the Billboard chart was indicative of the reception the band would encounter across the Atlantic in the following years.
