About the album Motörizer
Motörizer is the nineteenth studio album by Motörhead, which was released on August 26, 2008. The album's style remains true to the band's classic sound: a mix of Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Speed Metal, and Punk. Critics described it as "dirty" Rock 'n' Roll with influences from blues and boogie-woogie. All songs were written by the then-lineup of the band: Lemmy Kilmister, Phil Campbell, and Mikkey Dee.
The recording of Motörizer took place at Dave Grohl's (Foo Fighters) Studio 606 in Los Angeles, as well as at Sage & Sound Studios. The production, mixing, and engineering were handled by Cameron Webb, who was a regular collaborator with the band at the time. The cover art was designed by Mark De Vito. It depicts a coat of arms divided into four parts, representing the band's members and their origin: Lemmy (England): The Royal Arms of England. Phil Campbell (Wales): The red dragon (Draig Goch). Mikkey Dee (Sweden): The three crowns (Tre Kronor) and the iconic mascot Snaggletooth. It is the first album since 1996 not illustrated by Joe Petagno.
The album achieved significant commercial success for the group's standards. It reached No. 32 on the British charts, their highest position in the United Kingdom since 1991, and climbed to No. 5 on the German charts.
