About the album Ace Of Spades
After Overkill and Bomber from 1979, Ace Of Spades would come in 1980 to complete the “holy trinity” of Motorhead. Yet another masterpiece for the best rock ‘n’ roll “power trio” of all time.
Ace Of Spades is so rough in its sound and production and its songs so aggressive, that many consider it one of the first examples of thrash metal. Let's not forget that the title track of the album is the ultimate anthem of the band, the song that established them.
In production was Vic Maile, with whom Lemmy had met in Hawkwind, and they were able to match perfectly. Number 4 in Britain is the highest they achieved in their noisy career, while it became gold in Britain due to its sales, which have now reached 100,000 copies.
