About the album Motorhead

In August 1977, Motorhead, the self-titled album by Motorhead, will be released. The album is characterized by a sound that is neither Punk nor Hard Rock despite its harshness. No one can clearly categorize this sound into any of the dominant musical trends of that era. Later, it would take a place among the first heavy metal albums, though Motorhead themselves insisted they played rock 'n' roll. The producer of Motorhead was "Speedy" Keen.

The album will reach No. 43 in the UK at the time of its release, and it will reappear on the same charts in 1981, reaching No. 76 due to the rise of the band's fame in the early '80s.

On the cover, the emblematic figure of Snaggletooth appears for the first time, which will become the band's trademark. It is a creation of the American designer Joe Petagno.
