About the album Hammered
The sixteenth album by Motorhead, Hammered, was released in 2002 and left mixed feelings even with Lemmy, who admitted in an interview that the album has some good moments and some very bad ones.
The album's production involved the group's members and Thom Panunzio. The cover art of the album is the work of Joe Petagno, a long-time collaborator of Motorhead, and the initial idea was to use it for a commemorative album, for some collection. Eventually, after some interventions by Lemmy, the design was used for the cover of Hammered. The recording took place in the U.S. under a regime of fear and in the shadow of the attacks on the Twin Towers as the band was in Los Angeles to record, having flown there on September 10, 2001 (!), just one day before the attacks.
Hammered reached No. 113 in the United Kingdom.
