About the album Aftershock
As early as the beginning of 2012, Motorhead had started preparing material for the twenty-first album of their long career. Aftershock was finally released in October 2013. The producer Cameron Webb was once again by the band's side, to guide them during the creation of the songs for Aftershock.
The album was recorded in three different studios in Los Angeles. The fourteen songs on the record were a joint effort by Lemmy in the lyrics and Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee in the music. Motorhead once again offer what they know well, namely boogie and rock 'n' roll compositions played at maximum speed, while not lacking the bluesy moments of the remarkable Lost Woman Blues and Dust And Glass. Crying Shame was the one and only single from the album.
Aftershock reached No. 115 in the United Kingdom and No. 22 on the Billboard. This was something happening for the first time (!), that is, an album by Motorhead reaching a higher position on the American chart than that of Britain. Sales of the album in Germany are estimated to have exceeded 100,000 copies.
