About the album Fool's Game

The band Mordred is a characteristic example of how it is possible for a band with talent not to achieve a major career because they appeared earlier than they should have. In their debut, Fool’s Game, Mordred plays thrash metal that was integrated into the San Francisco Bay Area, while at the same time there are many funk metal elements in their songs.

However, in 1989, the golden age of thrash metal from the Bay Area had come to an end, while simultaneously, funk metal was mainly played in underground circles. Thus, Mordred's album, Fool’s Game, could not make its presence felt.

Among the standout songs is the album's opening track State Of Mind, The Artist, while it is worth listening to their cover of Rick James' Super Freak (!) to understand how ahead of their time they were.
