About the album Dopes To Infinity
The New Yorkers Monster Magnet present their third album in 1995. Dopes To Infinity is yet another step in the band's journey with their very distinctive sound. In fact, it is the album that contains their first single that achieved success - the now classic Negasonic Teenage Warhead.
The sound of the album moves between psychedelia, doom, and space rock, which blend together to create what would later be called stoner rock. Slowly heavy electric guitar riffs that repeat incessantly. The distorted voice of the singer and main member of the group, Dave Wyndorf, who is also behind the composition and production of each song, is of decisive importance.
At the time of its release, Dopes To Infinity did not have any notable commercial success. In Britain, it reached No. 51. Today, it is considered one of the most definitive albums of its genre.
