About the album Thriller
In 1982, Michael Jackson wanted his new album to be in harmony with the contemporary music reality, or even better, to be ahead of it. This is what he asked from producer Quincy Jones, and he also wished for every song to be a hit.
Recording for Thriller lasted from April to November 1982, and the album's sound was a combination of pop, funk, synth-pop, and rock. Thriller was supported by such well-directed video clips, unlike any other album before it, to such an extent that the clips are an integral part of the album in the minds of those who experienced the era when it was first released.
This is how Thriller became the phenomenon album of all times. Michael Jackson's sixth studio album achieved something no other has achieved and has not been surpassed yet: selling 70,000,000 copies (!)
