The 1980s for ABBA began exactly where the 1970s had left off, that is, at the top. Super Trouper also triumphed, reaching 8,000,000 copies worldwide and topping the charts in many countries. In the UK, for example, Super Trouper became the fastest-selling album of the year 1980.

The sound of the album is more pop rather than dance. Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, two of the four members of ABBA, were involved in the production of the album. Super Trouper has sold 8,000,000 copies worldwide.

"Super Trouper" is a stage lighting machine with a very strong light to the point where the musician is perfectly illuminated, but cannot see their audience. The symbolism is clear! The Swedes had reached such a level of fame that they felt they had become detached from everyone and everything.
