About the album Bad
Michael Jackson's seventh studio album would come in the year 1987, five years after Thriller. Bad would become another landmark album in Jackson's career. Quincy Jones will once again be on the production of the album, continuing to work his magic and guide every step towards Michael Jackson's global and total success.
Bad is filled with every known version of black music. The listener will hear funk, soul, R&B elements, while in songs like Dirty Diana, Jackson openly flirts even with hard rock. What will characterize the sound of the album is the excessive use of electronic instruments, which may sound excessive, but at the time of its release seemed a very interesting musical proposition.
Bad has reached 45,000,000 copies sold worldwide to date. The first single from Bad (I Just Can't Stop Loving You) was released on July 20, 1987, and the ninth and last (Liberian Girl) on July 3, 1989. The original edition of the album contained eleven songs. For two consecutive years, Bad fueled the music market with singles that immediately became hits.
