About the album Rock And Roll Heart
In 1976, Lou Reed moved to Arista Records and recorded his seventh album there. Its title is Rock And Roll Heart. Lou Reed himself is responsible for the production of the album. The album was released in November 1976 and was the second album Reed released in the same year.
Lou Reed does not present anything different from his familiar musical style that he had shown in his previous works. His sound moves between pop and rock music with the balance leaning towards the latter, while a cabaret atmosphere also hovers. The strong point of the album is Lou Reed's performances and expressiveness when he sings every line, every word. The photograph of Lou Reed that adorns the album cover is a work by Mick Rock.
Rock And Roll Heart certainly wasn't Reed's biggest success, but on the other hand, it is not a work that can be ignored. The album reached No.64 on the Billboard.
