Mil siluetas by La Unión
About the album Mil siluetas
The album Mil Siluetas by the Spanish band La Union was released in October 1984 and is one of the most iconic records of the Spanish pop-rock scene of the 1980s. The album mainly falls into the pop/rock and new wave genres. It is also characterized as Rock en Español, incorporating synth-pop and post-punk elements that were particularly popular in the "La Movida Madrileña" movement of that era.
The recordings of Mil Siluetas took place in Madrid, specifically at Estudios Sintonia (for most of the tracks) and at Audiofilm, where the sound mixing was also done. The production was signed by Ignacio (Nacho) Cano (member of Mecano) and Rafael Abitbol for the company Producciones C&A.
The album achieved tremendous success, mainly thanks to the legendary single Lobo Hombre En París, which was based on a story by Boris Vian, and also became an international hit. In Spain, the album has sold over 50,000 copies, earning the Gold Record certification. Overall, the band has surpassed 1,000,000 sales in its career, with Mil Siluetas remaining their most significant starting point.
