About the album Hot In The Shade
KISS will reach 1989 with Hot In The Shade, their fifteenth album of their career. The album is a pure glam metal album without the existence of keyboards. Hot In The Shade is an album whose duration approaches one hour, and this is naturally due to the fifteen songs it contains, something which is a record for KISS for one of their albums.
Hot In The Shade seems to be an obligation of the record contract with the company rather than the band's attempt to express something new. Two songs stood out: the ballad Forever and Hide Your Heart, a song that had been performed a year before by Bonnie Tyler. The production was done by Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons.
The highest position of the album in the U.S. was No. 29. Nevertheless, Hot In The Shade sold 500,000 copies in the U.S..
