About the album Aerial

Kate Bush's fans had to wait twelve whole years to hold a new record of hers in their hands. Kate Bush returns in 2005 with a double album - the first in her career - titled Aerial. The main reason for this long absence of the artist from England was raising her son, Bertie, for whom she has written the song of the same name.

Aerial is an art rock album with many progressive elements. The listener of the album discovers from the very first listen that Kate Bush has incorporated into her compositions everything from reggae and rock elements to Renaissance music or flamenco music (in the song Sunset). The sixteen compositions that make up this double album were recorded from 1996 to 2005. The recordings took place at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London, while the producer and sole composer of Aerial was Kate Bush herself. The first disc of Aerial is named A Sea Of Honey and the second is called A Sky Of Honey. On the album cover, these two elements, the sea and the sun, are depicted. The only single from this double album was King Of The Mountain, which reached No. 4 in the United Kingdom.

Aerial went platinum in the United Kingdom, selling 300,000 copies, and gold in countries such as France, Germany, and Canada.
