Still Alive And Well by Johnny Winter
About the album Still Alive And Well
Still Alive And Well is the fifth studio album by American guitarist and singer Johnny Winter, which marked his triumphant return to the music scene after a two-year absence due to rehabilitation. The album was released in March 1973.
The album mainly ventures into the realms of blues rock and hard rock and is based on the classic guitar-bass-drums composition, with Randy Jo Hobbs on bass and Richard Hughes on drums. The album includes some iconic covers, mainly of the Rolling Stones, who gave him the demo of Silver Train before they recorded it themselves, while the album closes with the cover of Let It Bleed. The album's production is by Rick Derringer, who also wrote the title track.
Still Alive And Well reached No. 22 on the American Billboard 200, becoming one of Johnny Winter's greatest commercial successes.
