About the album Chill Out

In 1995 John Lee Hooker released Chill Out. After the unexpected success of The Healer at the end of the previous decade and the beginning of the '90s, the bluesman from Mississippi has come back into the spotlight.

For the creation of Chill Out, he enlisted Carlos Santana, Van Morrison, Booker T. Jones, and his peer Charles Brown. The great success of the album is the opening track Chill Out (Things Gonna Change), with Carlos Santana accompanying him with his distinctive electric guitar playing. Another notable moment of the album is the excellent cover of the "blues anthem" known as One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer. The producer of the album is once again Roy Rogers.

With Chill Out, John Lee Hooker added to his collection the second Grammy for Best Traditional Blues Album of the year.
