About the album To Tulsa And Back

At sixty-five, JJ Cale records his thirteenth studio album and is in a very good mood. The 2004 To Tulsa And Back is counted among the very notable albums of the songwriter from Oklahoma, USA, and leaves no doubt about the value of this very special artist.

The album was recorded at Natura Digital Studio in Tulsa, Oklahoma and is a return to the roots. The producers of the record were Mike Test and David Teegarden.

To Tulsa And Back will come six years after JJ Cale's most recent album. The truth is that JJ Cale admitted that the albums he had created in the last several years and which relied on synthesizers were not accepted by the public. Thus, with Tulsa And Back he decides to return to the sound that made him beloved. The songwriter therefore mixes blues, rock, and jazz elements and offers us songs like Rio, Chains Of Love, and Homeless, true gems in his long list of compositions.
