About the album Surrealistic Pillow

Just the existence on the second album of Jefferson Airplane of two of the most iconic songs of the '60s, Somebody To Love and White Rabbit, would make this album an essential rock listen. Jefferson Airplane presented Surrealistic Pillow at the beginning of 1967 and defined the entire psychedelic scene of San Francisco with this album.

Surrealistic Pillow has a major protagonist, Grace Slick, who just two weeks after starting her collaboration with the band, enters the studio and gives her best. The album took a little over three weeks to record. The producer of the album was Rick Jarrard.

The album reached No.3 on the Billboard, while its sales in the United States alone have now exceeded 1,000,000 copies. In 2024, Surrealistic Pillow earned a place in the National Recording Registry of the U.S.A.
