About the album Jefferson Airplane Takes Off

The band Jefferson Airplane had already caught the spotlight since 1965 with their successful performances in San Francisco clubs, and it was logical and expected for their first album to be recorded in 1966, titled Takes Off.

According to other members of the group, this album was predominantly Marty Balin's endeavor. This was just before Grace Slick joined the ensemble.

Despite the expectations, the album barely reached No. 126 on the Billboard and did not win over the audience 100%.
