About the album Powerslave

In 1984, with their fifth studio album, Powerslave, Iron Maiden reach yet another pinnacle (of the many) in their career. Bruce Dickinson participates in the composition of four out of the eight songs on the album, establishing himself as a composer for the band as well.

This particular album contains two of Iron Maiden's most classic songs, Aces High and 2 Minutes To Midnight, which were also used as singles for the album. However, what one does not expect to hear is the fourteen minutes of Rime Of The Ancient Mariner at the end of the album, where Steve Harris exhausts every progressive element within him. The double and amazing Live After Death of 1985 was the result of live recordings that emerged from the World Slavery Tour to promote Powerslave. In addition, Powerslave is adorned with one of the most beautiful album covers of all time, which from the very first moment puts you in the spirit of the song Powerslave.

In the US, Powerslave reached No. 14 and in the UK, No. 3, extremely good positions for a heavy metal band at that time. In production, we find Martin Birch.
