About the album Piece Of Mind
Piece Of Mind will be the fourth album release of Iron Maiden and will take place in 1983. Here we have two major changes in the career of the band. Nicko McBrain will sit behind the drums and Bruce Dickinson will start contributing to songwriting, as he did for Revelations, Flight Of Icarus, Die With Your Boots On, and Sun And Steel. This would prove to be an excellent alternative that would renew the band's compositions in the near future.
The title Piece Of Mind comes from a lyric in the song Still Life, only in the song it is "peace of mind," while in the album title it becomes a play on words. This idea was born in a pub in Jersey as the group members were taking a break from the recordings.
The album reached No. 3 in the UK, going platinum by selling 300,000 copies. In the USA, Piece Of Mind had the same success as its sales also reached 1,000,000.
