About the album Killers

In 1981, the British band Iron Maiden recorded and released the second studio album of their career. The album is clearly the work of Steve Harris, with the exception of the title track Killers, where singer Paul Di'Anno also participates, for whom this would be his last album with Iron Maiden, as a few months later he would be dismissed due to his dependencies.

Killers is a legendary album both for Iron Maiden and for the entire heavy metal world. Its aesthetic continues to be close to punk music as the music is rough - as is the first album - and seems to be its natural evolution. However, Killers marks something else significantly important in the band's journey: it's the first time that producer Martin Birch takes on the task of providing his valuable expertise and aesthetic to a band album.

With Killers, Iron Maiden achieve something quite paradoxical. The album's sales reach 300,000 in France, while in England they are at 100,000 (!). In the USA, Killers has reached 500,000 copies.
