About the album Turn On The Bright Lights

The New Yorker band Interpol was formed in 1997. It took them about five years to present their first work. The album Turn On The Bright Lights was released in August 2002, although it had already been recorded by November of the previous year.

In their debut, Interpol presents eleven indie rock compositions with strong post-punk elements and manages to turn the spotlight on them, as their album was ranked among the very noteworthy records of its release year. The compositions on the album are the result of the joint work of the group's four members. PDA was the first single of the album and the first in Interpol's career. The producers who worked for the completion of the album were two: Gareth Jones and Peter Katis.

In terms of achieving high positions in the charts, Turn On The Bright Lights did not do very well. The No. 158 on Billboard and No. 101 testify to this. This particular album is now and retrospectively considered one of the significant and influential rock listens in the indie and alternative rock scene for the first decade of the 21st century.
