Antics by Interpol
About the album Antics
Two years after the debut of the American band Interpol and following the release of The Black EP, the time comes for the group's second studio album. Antics will be released at the end of September 2004 and will manage to keep public interest in the band alive.
In Antics, Interpol do not change much in their sound. Antics contains ten indie rock compositions, while the post-punk influences are very strong. All compositions are signed by all the members of the band. Peter Katis is once again involved in the production of the record.
The trajectory of Antics on the charts in America and the United Kingdom was clearly much better than that of their debut. Antics reached No. 15 on the Billboard and No. 21 in the United Kingdom. In both countries, the album has gone gold, selling 500,000 and 100,000 copies respectively. The album also managed to enter the Top 40 in many other countries, such as France, Italy, Australia, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
