About the album New Values
In his third album, Iggy Pop will not have his friend David Bowie with him, but he will collaborate with producer and musician James Williamson, whom he knows from the Stooges era. The album is titled New Values and its release will take place in 1979.
Here, Iggy Pop combines punk, rock, and even glam rock. New Values is one of the most remarkable albums of Iggy Pop's career. All the compositions bear the signature of Iggy Pop, while in half of the songs he collaborates in their composition with guitarist Scott Thurston. The two singles from the album were the songs I'm Bored and Five Foot One, while Don't Look Down was recorded by David Bowie in 1984 in a reggae version for his album Tonight.
New Values achieved some success in the United Kingdom, reaching No. 60, while the highest position on the Billboard was 180th.
