About the album Loco
The Loco by Fun Lovin' Criminals, released in March 2001 by Chrysalis Records, is the moment when New York's "wise guys" decided to wear silk shirts without losing their street attitude. It is their third album, recorded between New York and Maui, and represents a sonic cocktail of alternative rock, hip-hop rhythms, and lounge aesthetics.
The album starts aggressively with Where The Bums Go, where the guitars roar almost reminiscent of heavy metal, but quickly calms down to more familiar, "cool" paths. The titular single Loco, became a huge success, reaching No. 5 on the UK charts, aided by a famous Miller beer TV commercial. Although less innovative, it offers delightful, "cool" grooves and the characteristic irony of Huey Morgan.
The significance of Loco lies in its ability to unite disparate genres, offering a timeless, urban sound that survives beyond fleeting trends, maintaining the charm of effortless style.
