About the album Υou Are What You Is
In 1981, Frank Zappa released the double album You Are What You Is and blew the universe away with the twenty songs of the record, which is the thirty-fourth in his career (!) Frank Zappa did not hesitate to shoot his only music video for the song You Are What You Is, which features an actor portraying Ronald Reagan in the electric chair. The broadcast of the video clip was immediately banned. The album was recorded between July 18, 1980, and September 11, 1980. It was released on September 23, 1981.
This unique artist combines reggae, country, hard rock, new wave, jazz, soul, doo-wop, and whatever else inspires him to make music the vehicle to deliver his extremely satirical and caustic lyrics. The production of the album is handled by Frank Zappa himself.
