About the album Swagger

Flogging Molly, a group of Irish and American musicians based in Los Angeles, will release their first studio LP in 2000, presenting their own version of how Celtic punk should sound. The most well-known member of the band is their singer Dave King, who had a career in the 1980s with the hard rock band Fastway (!)

Swagger consists of thirteen songs. All the band's members jointly take care of the production of the album. Several of these songs were used to "dress" scenes in movies or episodes of some TV series. There is no song titled Swagger in the debut. Instead, one can hear it on their second album two years later.

The influences from the Pogues are undeniable, but on the other hand, Flogging Molly adds their own touch. Swagger reached No. 128 on the Billboard, which on its own was a pleasant surprise at a time when everything was changing dramatically in the music industry.
