About the album Blackout
The Dropkick Murphys from the State of Massachusetts presented their fourth studio album in 2003 titled Blackout, an album drenched in Celtic punk/rock, and indeed in its extreme form. Blackout began recording in 2002 and was completed the following year with production by Ken Casey, who is responsible for the role of bassist and also the second singer in the band.
Blackout consists of fourteen compositions, ten of which belong to the band members, three are covers of songs by Ed Pickford, Woodie Guthrie, Pete St John, and there is also a cover of the traditional Irish song The Black Velvet Band.
The standout single was the album's opening track titled Walk Away. Blackout managed to reach No. 83 on the Billboard, and it also had some success in the Netherlands where it reached No. 64 on the country's chart.
