About the album Elvis Presley

The 1956 Elvis Presley album is one of the cornerstones of rock 'n' roll and consequently of all rock music. The young white man - just twenty-one years old - Elvis Presley from Tupelo performs some of the greatest hits of black artists and serves them to the white audience who loves them, while the singer himself becomes the first pop idol in the history of modern music in a very short time.

The album became the first rock 'n' roll music album to reach No.1 on the Billboard and the first to exceed 1,000,000 copies. The songs on the album come from two different phases of Presley's career. There are songs that come from the recordings for Sun Records that stand out for their country style, and another group of songs that were recorded for RCA Victor and are in a rock 'n' roll or rockabilly style.

The album spent ten weeks at No.1 in the USA and also reached No.1 in Great Britain. After this album, which brought together the music of blacks and whites in the USA, nothing could ever be the same again in the pop/rock music industry.
