All the songs are compositions by Chuck Berry. On bass, we hear Willie Dixon, while the Moonglows provide the backing vocals.
Out of the twelve songs that make up the album, eleven had been released a short time before as singles. Only the last one, titled Blues For Hawaiians, was a new recording. Nine of them managed to enter the Billboard Top-100 in positions from No5 to No83.
