Ocean Rain by Echo & The Bunnymen
About the album Ocean Rain
Every band has an album of peak. For Echo & The Bunnymen, that was Ocean Rain in 1984. This would be their fourth studio work. The mysterious cover was a photo taken by photographer Brian Griffin inside the Carnglaze Caverns in Cornwall.
Ian McCulloch and his crew recorded Ocean Rain in 1983 with the help of an orchestra, offering their audience a psychedelic journey of eighties standards the following year. The album has a challenging sound that requires several listens to understand, in contrast to its first single, The Killing Moon, which captivates immediately.
It reached No. 4 in Britain and No. 87 in the U.S.
