About the album Roots
The second personal album of Curtis Mayfield is called Roots and is one of the most characteristic albums of progressive soul, which did not receive the recognition it deserved.
Roots consists of seven compositions created by Curtis Mayfield, except for the song Now You're Gone, which is co-composed by Mayfield and his bassist Joseph "Lucky" Scott. The production of Roots was done by Curtis Mayfield.
The album reached No. 40 on the Billboard.
