About the album Sweet Exorcist
Curtis Mayfield continues to release interesting albums in the '70s that renew the black sound. The 1974 Sweet Exorcist – sixth in line – is one of them. The sound of the album is characterized by progressive soul, which is evident in every composition of the record.
All the songs are composed by Curtis Mayfield himself except for the song Suffer, for which he collaborates with another great of Soul, Donny Hathaway. On the cover we see some creatures with bodies of ancient Greek statues holding some planets above a pile of skeletons.
The album is produced by Curtis Mayfield. The album reached No. 39 on Billboard.
