About the album Hot Buttered Soul
Isaac Hayes was disappointed by the lack of success of his first album and was preparing to return solely to songwriting for others. At that time, Stax Records lost its entire catalog of records, and the boss, Al Bell, ordered that new material be written. Thus, Isaac Hayes wrote Hot Buttered Soul and simultaneously made history in soul music.
The recording also featured the band Bar-Kays, who gave their best and elevated the compositions.
At the time of its release, it went gold in the U.S., selling 500,000 copies.
