Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival
About the album Bayou Country
Bayou Country was recorded in October 1968 and released on January 15, 1969. John Fogerty composed seven of the eight songs on Creedence Clearwater Revival's second album, while the eighth song is the band's version of Little Richard's Good Golly, Miss Molly.
This album is particularly decisive for the band from El Cerrito, California, as here the band shapes the sound of swamp rock which they would continue to offer in their subsequent works. Additionally, Bayou Country contains Proud Mary, a signature song for CCR, whose single reached No. 2 on the Billboard. The producer of the album was John Fogerty.
Bayou Country reached No. 7 in the U.S. and sold 2,000,000 copies. This meant that the popularity of Creedence Clearwater Revival soared.
